Roses are among the most widely grown and cherished flowers around the world. To travel abroad and still be able to share the beauty and joy of roses is a wonderful feeling. Brian loves to travel, experience different cultures, admire the sights, and discover the unique traditions that make each destination special - and through his travels there is always a rose garden to visit.
Last year, Brian and Luca visited Georges Delbard in France and attended their 90th Birthday celebrations which featured the new release of the rose, Sandrine Kiberlain. From there, Brian and Luca experienced for the first time the magical gardens of David Austin Roses and were able to touch, feel, smell and enjoy the latest releases of Bring Me Sunshine, Elizabeth, Dannahue and Emma Bridgewater. An impromptu "drop in" visit to Chris Warner Roses was a special afternoon as Chris and Brian shook hands announcing Wagner's Rose Nursery as the Australian Agent for Warner's Roses.
This year, Brian and Luca spent time in Japan, zipping around the country on fast trains and eating the local cuisine. Brian mentioned more than once how "unreal the food is here"! And of course, leisurely wandering around the gardens and being amazing by the different forms of roses.
Brian returns to work next week (next job on the farm - budding of the new stock), but without Luca, as Luca is visiting some rose fields in Phoenix - Arizona (USA). These fields are enormous....and we mean ENORMOUS! Roses as far as the eye can see!! Stay tuned as we bring more of Luca's journey.
There is never a boring moment in the world of roses, and we love sharing these moments with you!
