Undercut the roots; pull out the plants; prune them; select and grade the best ones; bundle them for the different customers; put them in sawdust while we wait for more roses to come; collate each individual order; box and post completed orders. Repeat.
This is what we do every single day here at the rose farm; no matter what the weather does. We also have other important jobs that needs to be done in winter, possibly in sunny days; like cutting and planting rootstock for next season, and pruning our potted roses.
Yes, we are busy! We have many new workers helping us for the season, most of them talking a different language and with an interesting story to share, and sometimes our shed is very hectic.
Some rose varieties are still in the ground and we are working on the plants that are ready. As you probably know, we had a very mild summer here in the South East, so we are giving our new bushes a little bit more time to grow, as we want you to receive only plants with a good and strong root system.
We still have some beautiful varieties in stock, and we discounted 20 of them that are very popular too; if you haven't done so yet, this is the right time to place your bare root order. If you already have an order with us, once we have packed and weighed your box, we create the consignment with Australia Post and you will receive an email advising it's on the way. It won't be long now until your new roses will be in your garden.
While waiting for your bare root roses, have a look to Brian's tutorial video on how to plant a bush rose.
On our website, you can also find tutorials on pruning roses, watering, mulching and all you need to do to grow beautiful and strong roses.
