It's that time of the year - when the rootstock planted last winter is grafted with the new varieties for 2024 season and our fields are looking at their best.
Our international budders David and Finn have been grafting the new rose plants since last November and are keeping us very busy. They work every day - including Sundays and sometimes public holidays too - for long hours, grafting an average of over 3,000 plants each per day. They are very skilled and committed, and we love working with them.
Our job is to keep cutting spent flowers of the varieties we need - from the 2-year-old plants in our fields or from gardens in our region - clean the stems from flowers, leaves and thorns and wrap them with wet paper for the budders. Our kids Luca and Chiara are helping us in this important job during school holidays, and at the end of the day they love checking how many thorns they removed and collected... Unusual collection, isn't it?
While we are preparing our crop for winter 2024, it's now the perfect time for you to visit our website and place your order. Remember there is a limited number for each variety, so if there are specific roses you are looking for, we suggest securing them now, before they sell out.
And if you cannot wait until next winter, you can always order from our huge collection of Potted Roses - plants available now and delivered just a few days after you placed the order.
