Kalangadoo, 1st March 2024
We had a nice and hot summer here in Kalangadoo, and our roses certainly loved it! They are growing well and strong and are still rewarding us with beautiful blooms.
Brian is very happy with them and how things are going at the nursery; budding is finished and now it's just a matter of continuing to fertilise and water, to have the plants growing until the start of our digging season, around late April. And you should do the same in your garden, as Autumn can still reward you with beautiful flowers.
Our Bare Root Roses' Catalogue is online, and we are already receiving many orders for next winter - Be sure to place your order soon if you don't want to miss out on your favourite roses, as many popular varieties will sell out very quickly.

Getting that beautiful autumn flush
|
Even the toughest plants need a bit of love, and Brian suggests that now is the perfect time to reinvigorate our roses for their glorious autumn flush. - A light pruning, to remove spent flowers, is a great first step. Brian has prepared a short video to show you how to deadhead your roses and have more blooms quicker.
- Second, fertilising your roses will provide them with the additional nutrients they need to reward your care with a stunning display of flowers over the next 6-8 weeks.
- Finally, as we mentioned many times, remember to water your roses deeply 2-3 times every week, to nurture them after the long, dry days of
summer.
